The Hill Where Lionesses Roar
- long

Somewhere in Kosovo, in a small remote village, three young women see their dreams and ambitions stifled. In their quest for independence, nothing can stop them: time to let the lionesses roar.

Debuting director Luàna Bajrami made this film at just 19 years old. Fans of the film Portrait of a Lady on Fire (2019) will recognise Bajrami as the actress who brilliantly portrayed the young maid Sophie. This year, the French-Kosovar rising star returned to Cannes, as the writer and director of this outstanding drama.
The first-time filmmaker’s eye for details is profound, from her inspired casting of mostly first- and second-time actors to the way the world they exist within moves around them. – IndieWire
