The Fall
- short
- 14'
Roughly 2.500 handmade drawings in ink and watercolour were the raw material for this dark animated short. In director Boris Labbé’s alternative fall from grace, it’s not mankind who messes up paradise on earth, but rather the arrival of mysterious creatures from the sky.
Labbé and his small team of artists somehow manage to give their looping animations, playing on Dante’s Inferno, at once an organic feeling and an Escher-like precision. This is owed in large part to the flitting, dissonant yet harmonious music by Italian composer Daniele Ghisi, a former maths student.
