Either because they’re too small, or too idiosyncratic, or too experimental, or for some other reason aren’t ‘marketable’. Movies that are trying to push the boundaries of what film is and don’t easily fit any mold – whether that’s the mold of mass entertainment or that of staid art house movies. We look for innovation and revelation, and we pay attention to new directors with a unique voice.

But Pluk de Nacht is more than movies under the stars. There’s more to see and do at the festival than just what’s on the big screen. There will also be a showcase of visual and conceptual artworks featured around the grounds.
