Word!
‘The bird is the word’, as surf band The Trashmen sang in 1963. A truism if ever there was one, especially since Twitter’s blue birdy started flying across the globe. This animated short gets nice and abstract about how that bird has changed the world.
Or, as the filmmakers put it: ‘a visual exploration of language in an alternate post-factual universe’. Images of elaborately designed blue birds bleeping their messages into the world and the cityscapes where those messages fly around like little orbs, are mixed with “tweets” by philosophers from throughout history who have cast their light on the meaning of language in their lifetime.
