On Friday, November 25th, the Van Gogh Museum together with Pluk de Nacht will present the world premiere of the first twenty minutes of LOVING VINCENT: a painted animation feature about the last days of Vincent van Gogh.
This extraordinary film owes its existence to the efforts of no less than 107 painters, who were trained to paint in Van Gogh’s style. Together, they have made the world’s first fully hand-painted animated feature, consisting of 59,871 frames and over 900 paintings. On November 25th, the very first sneak preview of LOVING VINCENT will be shown at Vincent on Friday, the Van Gogh Museum’s Friday night programming. After the screening, there will be an interview with its Oscar-winning director, Hugh Welchman, a tour of the paintings featured in the film, and a programme of animated shorts presented by Pluk de Nacht.
