Living Like Heta

After a victory march past international (animation) film festivals, Living Like Heta arrives at Pluk de Nacht. The surrealist animation, created by three film students from Switzerland, tells the story of the imperturbable Heta, who lives by an unassailable routine – including, but not limited to, a man with a moustache and a seal – in a house with illogical doors and meandering hallways.

Inevitably, her simple life reaches an unexpected turn due to a moment of carelessness, and her beloved rut literally crumbles under her hand. The whimsical animation is supported by an unconventional score that uses voices and sounds to make the film an extraordinary sensory experience, with the music complementing both the repetitive routine and the building tension.
