Why do coyotes howl at the moon? Coyote answers that question: because their wife and kids were brutally slaughtered, violent revenge on the killers won’t take away the trauma, and they keep being pursued by a ghost bison.
No, this animated short by Swiss director Lorenz Wunderle is not for the faint of heart. “Explicit, direct, brutal and colourful”, according to the programmer of the Berlin Film Festival, because that’s where this lavish visual trip premiere earlier this year. Also: “This is not a film for quiet sounds and subtle gestures. Everything is over the top.” You can say that again.
