In this absurd animated short, a boy travels to his father’s wedding. The two are estranged, their relationship frayed to say the least.
Dad is marrying a large latina woman, on a small boat drifting in shark-infested waters. The boy tells the tale in a detached, almost monotonous voice-over – in the style of This American Life – accompanying the detailed but minimal animations. In five intense minutes, this small story reaches unforeseen emotional and comedid heights.
